Photography

My interest in photography was kindled by one of my Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers during my junior year at Lehigh University. I assisted with developing photos from house events, and eventually bought a used Ricoh TLS. At that time, I shot Tri-X, all B&W.

Following school, I continued to take B&W photos, but started shooting Ektachrome--it was less expensive than Kodachrome--and used Kodak Rapid E-6 or Unicolor to process the slides. I printed using Cibachrome. The Ricoh TLS was replaced by a Nikon FM. When digital photography came along, I was an early adopter, purchasing a Nikon D50 so I could leverage my investment in lenses. With the ability to edit photographs on a computer, the darkroom that son David helped me build in the early 1990s has been essentially unused since 2000, and while the D50 still gets some use, almost all of my photography is done with a D7100.
