Irish Flute

In March 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic started, I was inspired to try my hand at the traditional Irish flute. My instrument is very similar to the traditional Irish flute pictured above, a beautiful crocuswood keyless flute made by Paraic McNella,  McNella Musical Instruments, Dublin.

This has been quite the learning experience. Still shut in and unable to perform with groups, I've been fortunate to find some wonderful arrangements of Irish tunes for flute and guitar. Realizing the guitar part with Finale, here are some of my beginning efforts.

New for 2023, my new arrangement of Lament for Kilcash, with harp provided by Finale, flute by me. This traditional Irish tune is described here: https://tunearch.org/wiki/Annotation:Lament_for_Kilcash, and there is information about Kilcash Castle here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilcash_Castle
